Chapter 16
DEFINITELY MAYBE PERHAPS FOR SURE
Of the many things I’m focusing on improving about myself, being decisive has got to be number one. On second thought, maybe it’s number two.
In fact, I just received the original copy of this book in the mail today. It’s presently January 11th, 2010—the original release date of this book. Although I didn’t like the way the original cover turned out, I was going to just let it go. But it kept bugging me, so I decided to change the cover. I wanted the cover to be symmetrical with Your Truth Will Set You Free. I love symmetry. I can’t believe I didn’t make the covers symmetrical in the first place. I’m much happier with the new cover, and I’ve suspended sales until January 22nd, when I plan on releasing both books.
Definitely maybe perhaps for sure.
I remember hearing some televangelist talk about the original definition of the word “decision.” He said it meant to “cut off.” When you make an incision, you cut in—when you make a decision, you cut off.
In other words, when you make a decision, you’re supposed to cut off all other possibilities. I can’t tell you how many times my indecisive nature has caused me to regret not following my initial instinctive impulse.
The worst date of my life was
the result of indecision. We made plans to watch a movie at my place, and I was
supposed to cook dinner. After some small talk upon her arrival, we both
mentioned that being indecisive was one of our biggest flaws. Then our
indecisive natures merged into one, as we agreed to change our original plans. We
decided to go out to eat. Long story
short, that change of plans caused a series of events that ruined the whole
night.
