Every decision you make changes the world.
Dear Publishers ...
Dear Publishers,

As many of you know, the world has changed significantly in the past twenty years.  Just think ... twenty years ago, the Internet wasn't even a part of our reality.

Now it's a facet in virtually every area of our lives.

My point is this:  You have to adapt to the natural evolutionary processes that govern our planet -- and our lives.

With that being said, I'm not interested in going through the arduous process of writing query letters and book proposals, only to send them to unfocused assistants who are wasting their workdays playing on Facebook.

Having worked in the radio industry for a decade, new artists are constantly trying to get radio programmers to listen to their music.  They waste valuable time approaching busy people in the industry.  What they don't realize is this:  Most of their music is never heard.  It just sits in a crate for two months -- then it gets thrown away.

Understanding that most humans won't make time to listen to a four-minute song, I don't feel comfortable wasting my time creating book proposals that will never be read.

Time is of the essence.

With that understanding, I'll rely God's plan, and the magic of coincidence, to land a publishing deal with a "traditional publisher."

I have five traditional publishers that I'd be interested in working with, as I believe our writing styles (and intentions) are properly aligned:

1.)  Thomas Nelson
2.)  Windblown Media
3.)  Hay House
4.)  Ignite
5.)  Hampton Roads

I don't plan to pursue either of these publishers.  I believe if it's meant to be, it'll fall perfectly into place.  The power of coincidence is the guiding force in my life, so if our paths "coincidentally" cross, and you feel our relationship would be of mutual benefit, please send me an email at brandon@brandonmerhout.com

In the meantime, I plan to move forward with my current publishing intentions.

I need to make sure my books get on the ark.  :]

Please enjoy the summary and sample chapters in The New Books section of my website.  We'll consider that my 2010 era "book proposal."

And please resist the urges of the ego, as it may scream:  I had to write a book proposal and endure countless rejection letters ... so everyone else will have to follow that script too!

I understand if you'd rather wait to read the final product, and that's fine.  I actually prefer that method.

I'll still be able to sign with a traditional publisher after the initial publication of Follow The White Rabbit on 011110.  The release of Your Truth Will Set You Free will take place on 012210.

The world is evolving; so is the publishing industry.  Stay in the race.

Remember, perception is reality.

I love you long time,

Brandon.
