Chapter 16
BUTTERFLY ... SUGAR ... BABY
“Hey Sugar Momma, come and dance with me. The smartest thing you ever did was take a chance with me.” Words of wisdom from the song “Butterfly,” and the band Crazy Town. As a radio personality, I remember this being one of my favorite songs. But frankly, the song has nothing to do with this chapter, other than being titled “Butterfly.”
However, including the lyrics of a popular song increases the chances that the reader will become more interested in the material they’re about to read. If they liked the song, it’s equivalent to some really great “reading foreplay.” If they didn’t like the song, it’s still okay, because the song gave me the opportunity to mention the word foreplay, which automatically causes the reader to be interested in the material that will follow.
Unless, of course, you’re a woman who’s lacking foreplay in her life. This might cause you to feel the emotion of frustration. In that case, just give me a call, and I’ll fix your foreplay problem.
Oh, settle down. I’m most definitely maybe just kidding, perhaps and of course (from time to time).
Richard Buckminster Fuller said, “There’s nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.” Who could ever imagine that a creepy, crawly caterpillar would ever evolve into a beautiful butterfly? I imagine, the same God who is able to transform a lump of coal into a beautiful diamond (through the process).
Diamonds and butterflies—a girl’s best friends.
Just in case you didn’t grasp the “diamond destiny” concept from the last chapter, I’ve decided to include a “butterfly destiny” as well. As you move through the process of transformation in your life, it’s important to have as many reminders as possible.
This is, most definitely maybe for certain.
Now, every time you see a diamond, you’ll think, I’m destined to be a diamond!
When you see a beautiful butterfly floating through the sky, you’ll remember, I’m destined to be a beautiful butterfly!
I believe the Creator gave us such bizarre examples of transformation to prove that He can make anything beautiful. How valuable is an ugly lump of coal? Who wants to be a creepy, defenseless caterpillar?
