Chapter 20

YOUR BOOK OF POSITIVE ASPECTS

Your thoughts are energy. Your thoughts can potentially become a physical reality. Think about how much you love and appreciate me for a moment. Now think about how you’re going to buy several copies of this book to give to your friends and family.

Very nice.

I’m going to share an amazing exercise with you—and if you’ll take time to do it—you’ll see immediate results. It’s an exercise from one of my favorite books, Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

Go to your local Walmart, Walgreens, or CVS, and purchase a cheap spiral notebook. Just don’t go to Target. Everybody knows Target will never be Walmart.

On the front cover of your new notebook, write the following: “My Book of Positive Aspects.” At the top of the first page write: “Things I’m grateful for in my life today.” Now proceed to list the many simple things you could be grateful for.

·         My fireplace

·         Generic brand allergy medicine

·         The non-stop affection my dog projects

·         My roof is keeping the rain off my head

·         Hot water for baths and long showers

·         Salt and pepper

·         My car runs

·         Good books

I like to use every available line. I’m not sure how many lines are on a sheet of paper, and I don’t really feel like getting up to go check, but there’s probably room for about 30 things. Sorry, but I’m lying on the couch underneath my electric blanket. The fireplace is delightful. You’ll just have to count the lines on a sheet of paper in your spare time.
